This dental practice has spanned my whole dental career since graduating from Otago in 1981.
Dr Tim Bishop joined me in 1986 marking the beginning of a happy partnership as The Family Dental Centre. The practice was sold in 2018, now operating as The Dentists whose core values of integrity and professionalism align with my own.
In 1991 I embarked on a 3 year post graduate diploma in restorative dentistry involving comprehensive treatment planning and rehabilitation of patients presenting with complex dental needs. I followed through with this interest as an early adopter of dental implants, carrying out surgical placement and restoration of multiple implant cases.
My interest in community dental health has been recently peaked by attending a symposium on Inequities in Maori Oral Health which endeavoured to address ongoing issues and barriers to dental services for Maori and low income adults.
Through out my life I have maintained a running fitness that augments my lifestyle and zest for dentistry. I am an enthusiastic member and competitor with the Napier Harrier Club. I was lucky to be in Dunedin to witness the emergence of the Flying Nun music scene of the 80’s and have been an avid follower of live local music since then.
Hi my name is Kate, and I started at The Dentists in 2018
I was completely new to the dental industry prior to joining The Dentists and very quickly fell in love with the role. I love continuously learning new things and building relationships with our patients.
Outside of work I enjoy all things outdoors. Camping and bush walks are a favourite in my family.
